Rooted Here: New Data on Napa Valley’s Immigrant Community (Spanish translation available)

In 2012, Napa Valley Community Foundation released a landmark immigration study revealing that thousands of eligible residents had not yet taken the step toward US citizenship, largely due to a lack of affordable legal services. That finding launched our One Napa Valley Initiative , which has since helped more than 2,600 community members become US citizens.
Now, more than a decade later, we’ve once again teamed up with the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), the nonpartisan think tank that authored our seminal 2012 report, to help us understand what’s changed – and what has remained the same – since then.
At this Common Ground event, we’ll share key findings from MPI’s upcoming 2026 Napa County immigration study and explore what the data means for our community, our workforce, and our collective future. Joining us is Valerie Lacarte, Ph.D. , Senior Policy Analyst with the Migration Policy Institute’s US Immigration Policy Program, and co-author of their updated report. Live Spanish-language interpretation will be provided.
When: May 7, 2026 | 5:30-6:30 pm (doors open at 5:00 pm)
Where: Yountville Community Center, 6516 Washington St., Yountville, CA 94599
